It took place at the Yamoto Playing Fields at the OlympAfrica Centre in capital city Lusaka.

More than 200 youngsters from various schools, between the ages of nine and 16, took part in sports including netball, football, basketball, cricket, taekwondo, boxing, athletics and table tennis.

OlympAfrica is a foundation owned by the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa, which is supported by the International Olympic Committee.

It was set-up to get more young people across Africa involved in sport and to develop sport at grassroots level.

The event in Lusaka also included educational sessions with the best performing athletes and teams awarded medals and trophies.

A minute of silence was also observed for former OlympAfrica Centre manager George Goma, who died following a short illness in August.
