The Norwegian triumphed in yesterday's competition, which featured the ski jump followed by a 10 kilometre cross-country race in the Estonian town.

Riiber stamped his authority over the field in a repeat of yesterday's format, as he topped the standings after the ski jump.

His total of 134.3 points gave Riiber a 30 second advantage over his nearest challenger Manuel Faißt of Germany for the cross-country, as well as Johannes Rydzek.

Rydzek, also of Germany, sought to close the gap to Riiber during the race.

Despite his best efforts, Riiber was able to stay clear to clinch victory in a time of 22min 31.1sec.

Rydzek would eventually end as the runner-up, after crossing the line 21 seconds adrift of the winner.

The podium was completed by yesterday' runner-up Akito Watabe, as the Japanese overall World Cup champion ended 43.6 seconds behind Riiber.

Watabe narrowly edged Vinzenz Geiger for the top three finish, with the German ending just 0.1 seconds down.

Following his sixth win in seven World Cup races, Riiber extended his lead in the overall World Cup standings.

Riiber now has a total of 680 points, with Rydzek second on 401.

Watabe rounds off the top three on 357.

The World Cup season will continue at Val di Fiemme in Italy from January 11 to 13.
