Zao in Japan and the Polish town of Zakopane are set to host the next stops on the International Ski Federation Ski Jumping World Cup tour this week.

The women on the circuit will compete at a night event in Zao, which begins with qualifying tomorrow and concludes on Sunday (January 20).

Two individual competitions are on the agenda at the Japanese venue, due to be held either side of Saturday's (January 19 ) team event.

Olympic champion Maren Lundby of Norway will be aiming to build on her triumph in Sapporo last weekend when she competes in Zao.

Lundby's victory helped her cut the deficit to current World Cup leader Katharina Althaus of Germany, who leads the standings with 530 points.

The Norwegian now has 438 and another win this weekend will see her further reduce the arrears.

Ryoyu Kobayashi of Japan, who missed out on becoming the first male ski jumper to record seven straight victories during the last World Cup event, will be among those targeting success in Zakopane.

Four Hills champion Kobayashi won six events in a row before his formidable streak came to an end when Poland's Dawid Kubacki topped the podium in Val di Fiemme on Sunday (January 13).

The event in Poland begins with the qualification round on Friday (January 18) before the team event takes place the following day.

The World Cup will then conclude on Sunday with the individual competition.
