Canada's Mikael Kingsbury will be looking to continue his domination of the International Ski Federation Moguls World Cup season when Lake Placid in the United States plays host to the latest stop over the coming two days.

The reigning Olympic champion has won all four moguls events so far this campaign with his most recent success coming on Saturday (January 12) in Calgary in Canada.

He currently boasts a total of 400 points in the men's World Cup standings as the halfway stage of the competition approaches.

France's Benjamin Cavet is a distant second on 230 points, while Sweden's Walter Wallberg is third on 200.

Perrine Laffont of France sits at the top of the women's World Cup standings after four events having finished as the runner-up for the second time this season with her silver medal-winning performance in Calgary.

The Olympic champion won the opening event of the season in Ruka in Finland, before placing third in the second competition in Thaiwoo in China.

Her total of 320 points is narrowly clear of Jaelin Kauf, with the American lying in second place on 305.

Kazakhstan’s Yulia Galysheva boosted her prospects of winning the overall World Cup title with her victory in Calgary, moving her onto 290 points.

Men's and women's qualification in Lake Placid is scheduled for tomorrow and will be followed by the finals on Friday (January 18).

The first aerials competitions of the season are also due to be held, with action taking place on Saturday (January 19).
