Canada's Melissa Lotholz won the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) women's monobob event in Calgary following her move from a push athlete to pilot.

Lotholz won the fourth monobob event this season in a time of 2min 4.55secs.

In second and third were her compatriots Kori Hol and Cynthia Serwaah, in 2:04.92 and 2:05.60 respectively.

Lotholz was previously a push athlete for pilot and fellow Canadian Kaillie Humphries, winning several IBSF World Cup races with her.

The pair also won silver medals at the ISBF World Championships in 2016 and 2017.

She competed at the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics alongside Christine de Bruin, finishing in seventh place.

Lotholz then decided to make the switch to the pilot seat in the monobob event.

The International Olympic Committee announced the inclusion of women's monobob in the Winter Olympic programme in July 2018, with the event due to make its debut at Beijing 2022.

The first IBSF women's monobob race was then held in Lillehammer last November.
