Sweden's Zebastian Modin continued his superb performance at his home World Para Nordic Skiing World Cup as he clinched his third gold medal with victory in the men's visually impaired cross-country sprint race in Östersund.

Modin came into the final day of cross-country action at the event having already won the long and middle distance races.

Guided for the first time by Olympic bronze medallist Emil Joensson, Modin crossed the line comfortably ahead of the rest of the field to complete the clean sweep in his home town.

Norway's Eirik Bye and guide Eivind Roed finished second, while Ukraine's Iaroslav Reshetynskyi and guide Kostiantyn Yaremenko were third.

Daniel Cnossen of the United States also maintained his formidable winning streak as he triumphed in the men's sitting.

Cnossen followed Modin in reigning supreme in every race he competed in during the event in Östersund, beating Vasyl Kravchuk of Ukraine by six seconds.

The bronze medal was claimed by Taras Rad.

US Paralympic champion Oksana Masters claimed her second title of the week as she topped the podium in the women's sitting.

Germany's Andrea Eskau came through to take silver, while bronze was earned by Norway's Birgit Skarstein.

Witold Skupien of Poland narrowly edged Ukrainian Gregorii Vovchynskyi in the men's standing sprint final, with bronze going to Norway's Hakon Olsrud.

Norway's Vilde Nilsen returned to winning ways in the women's standing, overcoming the challenge posed by Ukraine's Liudmyla Liashenko.

Oleksandra Kononova was the recipient of the bronze medal.

Oksana Shyshkova of Ukraine and guide Vitalii Kazakov outsprinted Austrian Carina Edlinger and guide Florian Seiwald to win the women's visually impaired.

Germany's Clara Klug and guide Martin Hartl were third.

The event in Östersund concludes on Friday with biathlon (January 18) following a rest day tomorrow.
