The third edition of the event is due to take place in the Thai region of Suphanburi, located 100 kilometres north of Bangkok, from May 23 to 28.

Reigning champions Great Britain will return to defend their title.

This will be their third consecutive appearance along with Australia, Germany and Japan, who also took part in the 2011 and 2015 editions. 

The United States did not participate in the 2015 tournament, but will try to repeat their 2011 triumph in Canadian city St. Catharines. 

South Africa also return following an absence four years ago, while Turkey and hosts Thailand will make their debut at the tournament.

"We are delighted to be able to have eight teams confirmed for the Women's Under-25 World Championships, including two making their debut at the event," IWBF President Ulf Mehrens said.

"It is a credit to the nations and zones for their focus on developing the women's game that we are able to stage the event and we believe it will continue to encourage the growth of the sport."

The draw for the pools is scheduled to be held in Bangkok on April 1.

Based on the team rankings and the rankings of the zones from the last World Championships in Beijing, the pairings for the draw are Britain and Germany, South Africa and Turkey, Australia and Japan, and Thailand and the US.

Suphanburi was announced as the host in November of last year.

It will be the first time Thailand has staged an IWBF World Championships.
