Mandia overcame Alen Remar of Croatia 6-4, while Morello defeated Erdem Tsydypov 7-3 in his semi-final at the Samsun Archery Hall.

Morello had earlier upset home-favourite Mete Gazoz and 2008 Olympic champion Viktor Ruban of Ukraine en-route to the final at the continental event.

"The level has been higher than past years for sure," said Mandia, who claimed individual silver at the corresponding event in 2015.

"You could see that during the Indoor World Series.

“Indoors is just a state of mind, plus practice, and I’m happy to be in the final again. 

"I will give my all to win it."

Sayana Tsyrempilova of Russia and Ukraine's Lidiia Sichenikova will go head-to-head for the women's recurve crown.

Tsyrempilova won an all-Russian affair 6-4 with Inna Stepanova to book her place in the final.

Sichenikova was also made to work hard for her spot in the gold medal match as she beat team-mate Polina Rodionova by the same scoreline.

Dutch world number one Mike Schloesser justified his billing as the one to beat in the men's compound competition as he edged Anton Bulaev of Russia 149-146 in his semi-final.

Schloesser's opponent in the gold medal contest will be Adrien Gontier of France, who maintained his run to the final with a shoot-off win against Domagoj Buden of Croatia.

Alexandra Savenkova will aim to defend her European indoor crown as she beat Natalia Avdeeva 148-142 in another all-Russian encounter.

Top qualifier Gizem Elmaagacli of Turkey awaits in the final after she ousted Turkish team-mate and world number one Yesim Bostan in the semi-finals.

Team finals are due to be held when the event in Samsun continues tomorrow.
