Men’s and Women’s Épée World Cups will be held in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires and Chinese city Chengdu respectively.

At the same time, there will be a Men’s Sabre World Cup in Hungary’s capital Budapest and a Women’s Sabre World Cup in Sint-Niklaas in Belgium.

Individual competition at all four events will be spread across tomorrow and Saturday (March 23) before team action takes centre stage on Sunday (March 24).

Heading the field at the Men’s Épée World Cup, due to take place at the Centro Nacional De Alto Rendimiento Deportivo, is world number two Bogdan Nikishin of Ukraine.

The world bronze medallist is joined by the likes of world number three Dmitriy Alexanin of Kazakhstan and world silver medallist Rubén Limardo Gascon of Venezuela.

Hong Kong’s Man Wai Vivian Kong will be looking to justify her women's épée world number one ranking at Chengdu’s Eastern Suburb Memory and add to her two FIE World Cup wins this season.

She is likely to face a strong challenge from world number two Kang Young Mi of South Korea and reigning world champion Mara Navarria of Italy.

The United States' Eli Dershwitz is considered the one to beat at Budapest’s Ludovika Aréna as the world number one in men's sabre. 

South Koreans Gu Bon-Gil and Oh Sang-Uk will be looking to make their mark, as will home favourite Áron Szilágyi - the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic champion.

The entire top 10 in the women’s sabre world rankings will be present at the Sports hall De Meerminnen in Sint-Niklaas, led by Russia’s Sofya Velikaya, the world and Olympic silver medallist.

France’s Cécilia Berder is expected to be in contention along with Hungary’s Anna Márton and another Russian, reigning world champion Sofia Pozdniakova.
