insidethegames exclusively revealed on Saturday (March 23) that Moustahsane, head of the African Boxing Confederation, is set to be appointed Interim President AIBA after he was nominated for the position during an Executive Committee meeting.

The Moroccan is in line to replace Gafur Rakhimov, who declared his intention to step aside on Friday (March 22).

Rakhimov will not officially step aside until Moustahsane is officially voted as Interim President by the AIBA Executive Committee and has helped select the members of the Commissions. 

He is joined on the WSB Commission by Italy’s Claudio Ballor, France’s John Dovi, England’s Matt Holt, the United States’ Matthew Johnson, Venezuela’s Fran Lopez Almeida, India’s Debojo Maharashi, Croatia’s Mladen Mikolcevic, Iran’s Mohammed Reza Nassiri Nejad, Uzbekistan’s Abdulla Sagdiev, Argentina’s Hernan Salvo, Russia’s Kirill Schekutyev and Germany’s Beatrice Bastian.

It is led by Cuba's Alberto Puig de la Barca, who was appointed to the position last month along with the six other Commission chairs. 

The members of the Coaches Commission, chaired by European Boxing Confederation President Franco Falcinelli, include Azerbaijan’s Nariman Abdullaev, Germany’s Liam Joesph Bolger, England’s Mick Driscoll, Russia’s Zuber Dzhafarov, Egypt’s Mohamed Abdelaziz Ghonem Soltan, Australia’s Dean Groth, Estonia’s Ervin Kade and Algeria’s Mourad Meziane.

Also on the list are France’s Mehdi Nichane, Ukraine’s Valentyn Ostyanov, Italy’s Emanuele Renzini, Uzbekistan’s Rustam Saidov, Spain’s Alfonso Sanchez Bernard, Puerto Rico’s Jose Laureano Sepulveda and Ireland's Billy Walsh.

Among those working under Marketing Commission chairman Umar Kremlev, the Russian who has positioned himself as an early contender to replace Rakhimov as AIBA President by admitting he has already considered standing, are Turkey’s Birol Akpinar, Jordan’s Ayesh Awamlleh, Uzbekistan’s Malik Babaev, Mozambique’s Gabriel Xavier Da Barca Jr, the US’s Mike Campbell and France’s Pascal Cordier.

They will be joined by Armenia’s Aram Davtyan, India’s Debojo Maharashi, Monaco’s Andre Micallef, Azerbaijan’s Naghi Safarov, Malta’s Patrick Schaerrer and the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Anna Mbunguje Marembo.

The Medical Commission, chaired by England’s Mike Loosemore, includes France’s Blaise Bignami, the Philippines’ Charles Martin Corpus, Cuba’s Barbarito Gutierrez Cabrera, Ukraine’s Bohdan Ivnev, Japan’s Osamu Kadota, Uzbekistan’s Dilshod Kazakov, Papua New Guinea’s Gideon Hurenge Kendino, Russia’s Vladislav Kurshev and Morocco’s Walid Laghribi.

Completing the line-up are Norway’s David Mcdonagh, Lesotho’s Makhetha Mosotho, Algeria’s Hocine Oucherif, Botswana’s Moses Thato Patlakwe, Canada’s Ken Trinh, Belarus' Zhanna Arekhava, Azerbaijan’s Leyla Nasirova and Grenada’s Deborah Ann Stephens John.

The members of the Technical and Rules Commission, chaired by Canada’s Pat Fiacco, include England’s Giorgio Brugnoli, American Samoa’s Mapu Jamias, Singapore’s Syed Abdul Kadir, Russia’s Sumayd Khalidov, Spain’s Felipe Jose Martinez, Germany’s Michael Muller and Morocco’s Abdelilah Oudghiri.

Also on the list are the Philippines' Edgar Picson, Australia’s David Pike, the US’s Angel Villareal, Malaysia’s Wan Abdul Hamid bin Wan Mahmood, Argentina’s Luis Zelikowicz and Finland’s Anna Laukkanen.

Among those working under Women’s Commission chair Hana Agnes Kendi of Hungary are Slovakia’s Martin Gajdos, Sri Lanka’s Dian Gomez, Lithuania’s Donatas Macianskas, Serbia’s Jovan Panic, France’s Elizabeth Alonso, England’s Amanda Coulson, Botswana’s Hlanganani Nkutusang Digwere, Swaziland’s Pearl Dlamine and Russia’s Olga Domuladzhanova.

They will be joined by Australia’s Julia Felton, Cuba’s Amelia Yackeline Gonzalez Marrero, the US’s Christy Halbert, Algeria’s Manel Meharzi, Trinidad and Tobago’s Ria Ramnarine, Spain’s Maria Teresa Romero de Rojas, Sierra Leone’s Claudia Cecilia Taylor and Morocco’s Zoubida Wissam.

The Youth Commission, chaired by Guyana's Steve Ninvalle, includes China’s Han Bo, France’s Malik Bouziane, Thailand’s Chaiwat Chotima, Poland’s Maceij Demel, Ireland’s Patrick Gallagher, England’s Robert Gibson, Sudan’s Ekrima Hashim Haroun Ahmed, Sierra Leone’s Solomon Kargbo and Uzbekistan’s Rovshan Khodjaev.

Completing the line-up are South Korea’s Ki Taek Kim, India’s Jay Kowli, Australia’s Johan Linde, Ukraine’s Donatas Piskun, Finland’s Henrik Tavio, Georgia’s David Tsikaluri, Russia’s Said Tulakov, Germany’s Nadine Apetz and the US’s Debbie Holmes.

AIBA admitted earlier this it does not want Rakhimov to step down as President, even though his election last November has plunged the sport into crisis and threatened its place on the Olympic programme at Tokyo 2020.
