Discussions on the next year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games in the Japanese capital will take place at the International Institute for Management Development.

The FEI says a focus will be placed upon climate mitigation plans and the optimisation of equine and human performance in a challenging climate.

It will be the second topic covered on the opening day of the eighth edition of the forum.

Proceedings will begin with a session dedicated to gender equality, particularly in governance positions.

A review of the legal system, including a proposed way forward regarding pony measurement, will be discussed in the afternoon session.

Sanctions and measures related to eventing risk management will be assessed.

The opening day will conclude with a session dedicated to the future of reining.

The second day of the forum will focus on the endurance discipline.

The FEI says the whole day will be dedicated to the questions, challenges and reshaping of this discipline.

This will include qualification of horses and athletes, with a focus on reducing welfare risks.

Educating officials and correct application of the rules will be another topic, alongside improvements and innovations to shape endurance.

A wrap-up will then be held with FEI secretary general Sabrina Ibáñez, with attendees able to take part in a question-and-answer session.
