Yevgeni Dadonov and Yevgeni Kuznetsov each scored twice in the Russian side's comprehensive triumph, while Mikhail Grigorenko, Nikita Zaitsev, Dinar Khafizullin, Nikita Kucherov and Alexander Ovechkin also found the net.

The record victory moved Russia top of Group B with four wins from their opening four matches.

It was the first time they had won a match at the World Championship by 10 goals.

Switzerland also have a perfect record after their first four matches after they defeated Norway 4-1 in the same group.

Andres Ambuhl chipped in with two goals, with Nico Hischier and Gregory Hofmann also getting on the scoresheet.

In Group A, Leon Draisaitl scored a dramatic late winner to give Germany a 3-2 victory over hosts Slovakia at Steel Arena in Košice.

Marc Michaelis had given Germany the lead before Andrej Sekera and Libor Hudacek turned the game in the hosts' favour.

Markus Eisenschmid levelled in the dying minutes before Draisaitl ripped a shot past Marek Ciliak to hand Germany maximum points.

Germany are top of the group with four victories, while Slovakia are third from bottom.

The United States are second, four points behind Germany, after they comfortably beat Britain 6-3.
