Team qualification gives three individual places – the maximum that can be won per gender.

China, Chinese Taipei, Britain and South Korea secured full quotas, winning spots in the men’s and women’s team events at Tokyo 2020.

Australia, India, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands won men’s team berths.

Belarus, Germany, Russia and Ukraine earned women’s team places.

The men's quarter-finals, scheduled for tomorrow at the fields of rugby club The Dukes, will see South Korea face Britain, China meet Australia, Chinese Taipei go up against India, and Kazakhstan do battle with the Netherlands.

South Korea's clash with Russia is one of the four women's last-eight ties along with matches between Britain and Germany, Chinese Taipei and Belarus, and Ukraine and China.

The eight losing countries in the men's second round were Bangladesh, Japan, Italy, Turkey, France, Canada, the United States and Ukraine.

Those suffering defeat in the women's second round were Spain, Japan, Italy, Mexico, France, India, Sweden and Turkey. 

There remain eight individual Tokyo 2020 spots available at these World Championships.

They will be awarded to the nations of the four highest-ranked recurve men and four highest-ranked recurve women that are not part of teams that have already qualified.

Japan will receive host country team places at the end of the qualification process.

The last three team places for each gender will be won at the final qualification tournament, held during the third stage of the 2020 Archery World Cup in Germany’s capital Berlin.
