Iran and Russia continued their impressive campaigns as the third week of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Men’s Nations League began.

Both teams are based at Urmia in Iran for their latest three matches, with the hosts facing Canada today.

The Iranian team recorded a 25-15, 26-24, 25-16 victory to improve to six wins and one defeat their run.

Russia matched that record by coming from a set down to beat Poland 24-26, 25-20, 25-22, 25-19.

Brazil were unable to to maintain their 100 per cent record when they faced Serbia at the Multiusos de Gondomar venue in Portugal.

The European nation battled to a 17-25, 25-22, 17-25, 25-20, 15-12 victory.

Hosts Portugal then earned a straight sets 25-22, 25-17, 25-23 win over China in the second match of the day at the venue.

Italy secured a 23-25, 25-15, 29-27, 25-21 win over Japan at the Palace of Culture and Sports in Bulgaria.

The Italians now have five wins and two defeats from their matches to date.

Bulgaria battled to a 20-25, 29-27, 22-25, 25-21, 15-13 win over Australia.

France were able to build on their record of five wins and one defeat when they took on Germany in Cannes.

The hosts clinched a 24-26, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20 win over their fellow Europeans.

United States recorded a 25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21 win over Argentina in the other tie at Palais des Victories.
