Millie Tomlinson has broken into the top 20 of the women's Professional Squash Association (PSA) rankings for the first time in her career.

The English player was ranked 27th in the world going into the 2018-2019 season but two semi-final appearances have seen her climb the rankings.

She is now 20th after the retirement of Malaysia's eight-time world champion saw her pushed up an extra spot.

Egypt's Yathreb Adel, Hong Kong's Joey Chan, Belgium's Nele Gilis and United States' Olivia Blatchord Clyne have also moved up to 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th respectively after David was removed from the rankings.

The rest of the top 20 remains unchanged with Egyptian Raneem El Welily keeping hold of top spot for the eighth month in a row.

El Welily, the 2017 world champion, tops the pile in front of compatriot Nour El Sherbini who won her third world title in Chicago this year.

France's Camille Serme is third with Egypt's Nouran Gohar and Nour El Tayeb fourth and fifth.

In the men's rankings France's Gregoire Marche has moved up two places to a career-high position of 16th.

He won the 5R Montpellier Metropole Open in June, not dropping a game throughout the tournament and beating England's former world number one James Willstrop in the final.

Willstrop himself has moved up to 18th to take the position vacated by Marche while English duo Declan James and Daryl Selby drop to 17th and 19th.

The top 15 remains unchanged with Egypt's reigning world champion Ali Farag leading the way for the fifth month in a row.

Egyptians occupy the top four places with Mohamed ElShorbagy second, Tarek Momen third and Karim Abdel Gawad fourth.

Germany's Simon Rösner sits in fifth position.

The PSA World Tour season ended with the World Tour Finals last month.
