Cooley and Hancock have an unassailable nine point lead in the mixed Nacra 15 event.

All three teams will be crowned youth world champions tomorrow, providing they stay out of trouble and avoid a non-discardable disqualification or penalty.

Menzies and McGlashan are all-but guaranteed gold as Spain's Martin Wizner and Pedro Ameneiro cannot catch them at the top of the leaderboard.

The team from New Zealand have 26 points, while Wizner and Ameneiro are 17 adrift in second.

Hawkins and Yoshiyasu ensured the girls' 420 crown will be returning to the United States as they were fourth and fifth today and their highest score is a seventh.

They are 22 points in front of nearest challengers Neus Ballester and Andrea Perello of Spain going into tomorrow's final day.

"We were crying on the way in," the American pair said.

"We're really happy. 

"We're just going to go out tomorrow and have a solid race but it doesn't matter because gold is wrapped up."

Cooley and Hancock are assured of the mixed Nacra 15 title despite not winning a race this week.

With one race remaining, they have clinched gold as they hold enough of a points buffer over the French team of Titouan Petard and Marion Declef.
