USA Hockey has announced that National Hockey League (NHL) Network will televise live the final three days of games at the upcoming World Junior Summer Showcase in Plymouth.

The event, due to take place at USA Hockey Arena from Friday (July 26) to August 3,  will include 11 international competitions and the best under-20 players from four nations – the United States, Canada, Finland and Sweden.

They will be auditioning for a spot to represent their country at the 2020 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championship in Czech Republic.

The six-game NHL Network coverage is scheduled to begin on July 31 with Canada facing Finland and the US going up against Sweden.

It will continue on August 2 with Sweden versus Canada before Finland and the US meet in a rematch of the gold-medal game from the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Competition will conclude on August 3 with back-to-back rivalry games as Sweden faces Finland and the US takes on Canada.

In addition, HockeyTV will provide live streaming coverage of the first four days of the event, including five games and the US split-squad scrimmage on Friday.

The 44-player US roster is divided into two teams – Team Blue and Team White – for the first portion of camp.

Beginning on July 30, the US will trim down to one roster for the remaining portion of camp.

More than half of the American invitees have represented the their country internationally across six major events, including the IIHF World Junior Championship, IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship, Winter Youth Olympic Games, World Junior A Challenge, Hlinka Gretzky Cup and Under-17 Five Nations Tournament.

Furthermore, 24 players on the US roster have skated at least one full season with USA Hockey's National Team Development Programme (NTDP), which is based out of the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth.

Among the NTDP alumni are 10 first-round selections, including 2019 first-round picks John Beecher, Matthew Boldy, Cole Caufield, Spencer Knight, Alex Turcotte, Cam York and Trevor Zegras.

They are joined by 2018 NHL Draft first-rounders Joel Farabee, K'Andre Miller and Oliver Wahlstrom.

Collectively, the four teams competing at the World Junior Summer Showcase have contested at least one of the last three IIHF World Junior Championship gold-medal games.

In 2017, the US beat Canada in a thrilling 5-4 shootout victory before Canada defeated Sweden 3-1 a year later.

This past January, Finland edged the US 3-2 to triumph.
