US Speedskating has announced that new training and physiotherapy equipment has been installed at the Utah Olympic Oval.

The venue in Kearns, which was built for the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics, has been kitted out by manufacturer Dynatronics Corporation.

It means a facility which has hosted a number of top events since the 2002 Games has been upgraded at a time when a 2030 Winter Olympic bid is on the cards.

In December, Salt Lake City was chosen as the United States' candidate for a possible bid in front of Denver.

Dynatronics equipped nearly every medical station during Salt Lake City 2002 and has continued to enjoy a strong relationship with US Speedskating ever since.

"We are proud to outfit US Speedskating with our high-quality US-made restorative products," said Dr. Christopher von Jako, chief executive of Dynatronics.

"We are honoured to partner with these outstanding athletes as they represent our nation.

"With Salt Lake City again being considered for a future Winter Olympic Games, US Speedskating has a premier athletic training facility, which includes our products, to showcase to the world."

Karen Ocwieja, US Speedskating's head athletic trainer for short track, added: "The dedicated treatment and recovery space has allowed our athletes to gain the most from their training each day.

"I still get a kick out of being able to adjust the table mid-treatment, which allows me to improve my efficacy and ergonomics."
