Mark Parkman, the general manager of the Olympic Channel, welcomed the move which comes prior to Tokyo 2020 next year.

Seven has a media rights agreement with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) which includes broadcasting rights for Tokyo 2020.

"We are thrilled to bring an Olympic Channel experience to 7plus users in Australia as we continue to grow and evolve our global product," said Parkman.

The Olympic Channel was launched by the IOC after the Rio 2016 Games.
