The Dutch 16-year-old won both the quad wheelchair singles and doubles events in Nottingham, however, was not seeded for this International Tennis Federation One Series event on clay at Tennis Club de Géronsart in Jambes. 

He faced Australia's Heath Davidson in the first round and the number two seed was an easy victor, coming through 6-2, 6-2.

All four seeded players in the quad singles won their first round matches, with Dutch top seed and world number five Sam Schröder beating American Greg Hasterok 6-2, 6-2.

Third seed Lucas Sithole - Vink's winning doubles partner in Nottingham - had to work hard to beat Japan's Mitsuteru Moroishi, the South African eventually winning through 6-0, 3-6, 7-6.

Canada's Robert Shaw, ranked fourth, had a much easier time as he beat German qualifier Maximillian Laudan 6-2, 6-1.

In the men's singles, the two seeds in action today could not have made lighter work of their first round matches.

Seventh seed Daniel Caverzaschi of Spain and eight ranked Takuya Miki from Japan both earned double bagel wins – 6-0, 6-0.

Caverzaschi beat Netherlands' Mitchel Graauw, while Miki saw off Spain's Francisco Garcia Vena.

The top six ranked players are set to join Caverzaschi and Miki in round two from tomorrow, while the eight women's seeds all commence their campaigns from Thursday's after getting byes through today's opening round.
