Canada's two-time Olympic Alpine skier Phil Brown has retired from international competition at the age of 27.

Brown was part of the squad that finished ninth in the team event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang and won silver in the team competition at the 2015 World Championships in Colorado.

He also helped Canada to three top-five finishes in the team event at the International Ski Federation Alpine World Championships and made 86 World Cup starts.

Brown said: “My time as a ski racer with Alpine Canada has been outstanding.

"I was able to achieve many of my goals as an athlete and was fortunate enough to compete in some big events during my tenure.

"These are memories I will never forget as I move forward into a new chapter of my life.

“I couldn't have done it without the support and encouragement from my teammates, coaches, support staff and sponsors.

"Thank you to everyone who was involved in shaping my career and pushing me to find new limits on the slopes.”
