As reported by GhanaWeb, Okudzeto was accompanied by the International Games and Competitions Committee (IGCC) chairman Peter Twumasi, who doubles as the director general of the National Sports Authority (NSA).

Also on the visit was Stephen Mahamudu Yakubu, Ghana’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, as well as Ghana Olympic Committee President Ben Nunoo Mensah and IGCC member Magnus Rex Danquah.

Speaking after a meeting with the athletes, Twumasi said it provided a chance for the major stakeholders, such as the Sports Ministry, to discuss important subjects regarding the Rabat 2019 campaign.

"We wanted to whip up the morale in camp among the athletes with the meeting and the athletes too had some challenges they wanted to put across," Twumasi said.

"It was an open forum and some of the issues have been addressed. 

"Others are being taken care of.

"For instance, there were issues of kits that were not with the team but that had been resolved.

"I can say that everything is fine here. 

"These Games provide the chance for some of these disciplines to generate interest and create awareness of their existence in the minds of Ghanaians."

It was recently announced that a budget of almost $1.28 million (£1.05 million/€1.15 million) has been allocated to Ghana's participation at the 2019 African Games, through the Government's Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) and the NSA.

Funding is expected to cover all expenses for the Ghanaian team and officials at the 12th edition of the continental event, which began on Monday (August 19) and will conclude on August 31. 

Isaac Kwame Asiamah from the MoYS approved the budget.

Twumasi said it was important for the figure to be made public.

Ghana has sent a contingent of 139 to Rabat, made up of 91 athletes, 29 coaches and 19 management members.

In October 2018, the country was announced as hosts of the 2023 African Games.
