The International Judo Federation (IJF) has a new partnership with sports media agency Action Images ahead of its World Championships in Tokyo.

Action Images, the picture branch of news agency Reuters, will distribute exclusive photos, videos and other news and features to judo fans.

The coverage includes more than 20 elite events, including the IJF World Championships, with the 2019 edition starting this weekend in Japan.

Coverage also features IJF development projects such as gender equity and Judo for Peace.

IJF President Marius Vizer said: "It is a great honour to begin this strategic collaboration with Reuters, with the objective of making judo images and coverage available to the media of the world for providing visibility to our premium content."

Full coverage of this year's World Championships will be provided by insidethegames, including a live blog commencing on Sunday (August 25).
