Hosts Estonia were joined by Austria, Finland and Germany in reaching the semi-finals of the 2019 World Team Disc Golf Championships in Alutaguse today. 

The home nation beat Czech Republic 7-1 in the last eight at Mäetaguse Disc Golf Park.

It sets up a clash with Finland, who defeated Slovakia 8-0 to earn a spot in the penultimate round.

The other semi-final encounter pits Austria against Germany.

Austria overcame France 5-3, while Germany claimed a 6-2 win over world champions Canada.

All eight teams qualified for the quarter-finals by securing a top-two finish in their respective pools in round two.

Estonia and Slovakia advanced from Pool E, while Czech Republic and France progressed from Pool F.

Finland and Canada led the way in Pool G and Germany and Austria moved through from Pool H.

Great Britain, Spain, New Zealand and Lithuania all suffered elimination after coming last in their three-team pools.

Semi-finals are due to take place tomorrow morning, before the medal matches are held in the afternoon.
