Norway lead the grade one standings at the Longines International Equestrian Federation Para-Dressage European Championships, with Jens-Lasse Dokkan putting them in the driving seat.

Dokkan won the individual title at Rotterdam Arena earlier in the week and scored 76.536 per cent on Aladdin as Norway topped the leaderboard on day one.

Sara Morganti and Royal Delight put Italy in second place with a score of 74.750 per cent, as Finland's Katja Karjalainen on Dr Doolittle scored 73.643 per cent for third.

In grade three, Danish rider Tobias Thorning Joergensen came out on top with Jolene Hill on 76.382 per cent.

Joergensen's teammate Caroline Cecilie Nielsen and Davidoff had the third-best score on 70.088 per cent as Denmark led the way.

Dutch rider Rixt van der Horst and Findsley N.O.P. split the Danish duo with a score of 74.029 per cent.

Joergensen said: "I’m feeling very happy although she [Jolene Hill] was a bit more tense today. 

"I was scared I may have done too much. 

"I wish I had a better feeling, but I will sit down and watch the video and look at the scores the judges give and see what we can do better."

European championship debutant Georgia Wilson topped the grade two standings for Britain with a score of 74.758 per cent riding Midnight.

Austria's Pepo Puch was pushed into second after scoring 74.152 per cent on Sailor's Blue.

Nicole Den Dulk of The Netherlands was ranked third with Wallace N.O.P. after scoring 73.364 per cent.

Germany are effectively out of the team competition, after grade one rider Elke Philipp and Steffan Zeibig from grade two failed to break the 70 per cent mark.

In the hunt for the overall team title, Portugal are on top with a score of 188.591 per cent.

Austria are in second place on 145.224 per cent and Italy sit third on 144.357 per cent, with one rider to come for both nations.

The Netherlands, Britain and Belgium are favourites to finish in the podium places, with two riders to come in the grade four and fives competitions tomorrow.
