Sebastian Garcia became Mexico's first individual outdoor world champion, defeating Russia's Daniil Kosenkov in the men's compound cadet final at the World Indoor Archery Championships in Madrid.

Garcia prevailed with a 146-142 victory to claim his second gold of the Championships, after partnering Dafne Quintero to the mixed team title in front of the Spanish capital's Royal Palace.

The Mexican duo beat Makenzie Weatherspoon and Cole Zeug of the United States 154-152 in the final.

Turkey's Batuhan Akcaoglu defeated Slovenia's Tim Jevsnik 145-130 in the individual bronze-medal match.

The women's compound cadet honours went to Arina Cherkezova of Russia, who edged out Denmark's Natacha Stutz in a shoot-off.

Elisa Bazzichetto of Italy also needed a shoot-off to earn bronze as she overcame American Faith Miller.
