The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) has outlined the qualification process for the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne.

Athletes hoping to qualify for either the monobob or skeleton competitions will have to do so through the IBSF Youth Series which begins in Lillehammer in Norway on October 22.

There will be eight races per discipline which will be held across two European and two North American venues.

Seventeen places in each of the men's and women's monobob competitions are available for Lausanne 2020, with 19 spots up for grabs in each of the men's and women's skeleton events.

An extra spot in each competition will also be granted to host nation Switzerland.

Sliding events at the Games in the Olympic capital will take place in St. Moritz.

Two races in each discipline will be held at every Youth Series leg.

Following the opener in Lillehammer, the host of the 1994 Winter Olympics and the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics, the circuit will move to Königssee in Germany from November 3.

Lake Placid in the United States, the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic host, will be visited from November 12 before Park City in Utah, a main venue hub for the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics, takes centre stage from December 4.

Lausanne 2020 will take place between January 9 and 22.
