United States Paralympians will have their own base at Tokyo 2020 after Toyota announced a partnership with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) for a Team USA hospitality house at the Paralympic Games.

It is the first time the US will have a hub at a Paralympics for athletes, delegation members, partners and donors.

Paralympic swimmer Jessica Long, winner of a total of 13 Paralympic games gold medals at Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016, is looking forward to a festive environment in Tokyo.

"I am so thrilled that we are going to have a USA House at the Paralympic Games," said Long.

"The Games are their own crazy environment, and I'm so looking forward to have a place that will be a comforting piece of home in the middle of Tokyo.

"I can't thank the USOPC and Toyota enough for giving American athletes a place to come together and celebrate the amazing things that are going to happen in Tokyo."

The house will be located at the Tokyo American Club, the same venue for the USA House during the Olympic Games.

It will be open by invitation only during the duration of the Games, due to take place between August 25 and September 6, 2020.

"Toyota is honoured to partner with Team USA in presenting the first-ever USA House at the Paralympic Games," group vice-president of Toyota Marketing for Toyota Motor North America Ed Laukes said.

"As a company dedicated to mobility for all and committed to a more inclusive society, we look forward to supporting the Paralympic Movement by providing a home away from home at the 2020 Games for the world-class Team USA Paralympic athletes, their families and friends."
