The Professional Squash Association (PSA) has confirmed its calendar for the 2019-2020 World Tour season.

Twenty-nine tournaments will take place in all, across five continents.

This includes the Women's World Championships in Cairo between October 24 and November 1 and the Men's World Championships in Doha between November 8 and 15.

The season will end as usual with the World Tour Finals, also in Cairo, between June 26 and 29.

Nine World Tour events have been given platinum status, the top tier of the circuit.

They include the China Squash Open, which begins in Shanghai tomorrow and runs until September 8.

Platinum action will then continue with the US Open Squash Championships in Philadelphia between October 5 and 12, then the Egyptian Squash Open, for men only, between October 25 and November 1.

The Hong Kong Squash Open from December 2 to 8, the Tournament of Champions in New York City between January 9 and 17 and the Windy City Open in Chicago between February 27 and March 4 will also all have platinum status.

Cairo will stage the Black Ball Squash Open, a platinum event for women only, between March 8 and 14 with the El Gouna International also enjoying top-tier status in the Egyptian city between April 8 and 17.

The British Open will round-off the platinum season between May 25 and 31 in a city to be confirmed.

Every player who wins a platinum event will automatically enter the World Tour Finals, as will the reigning world champions.

"Since putting the new tour structure into place at the beginning of the 2018-2019 season, we have seen an increase in prize money and playing opportunities across the tour and fully expect that trend to continue throughout the upcoming season," said PSA tour director Hannah Ridgard-Mason.

"The 2019-2020 campaign promises to be one of the most highly-competitive and exciting seasons in recent memory, and we look forward to watching all of the action unfold over the next nine months."

As well as the platinum events, seven gold level tournaments are also on the schedule alongside five silver and seven bronze.
