ANOC confirmed fans will be able to watch live action from the Games in Doha through a stream on the website, which also includes venue information, participating countries, the provisional competition schedule, news and photo galleries.

ANOC has also unveiled new Instagram and Twitter accounts prior to the start of the event, which runs from October 12 to 16.

"We are delighted to launch the ANOC World Beach Games website which will be the go-to resource for National Olympic Committees, athletes, fans and everyone who wants to learn more about the Games and be kept informed on the latest results and updates," said ANOC secretary general Gunilla Lindberg.

"As we aim to ensure the website is as comprehensive and informative as possible, we will be constantly updating it with new information. 

"Our social media platforms will allow us to interact directly with our NOCs, their athletes and beach sports fans around the world. 

"With just over a month to go until the first-ever ANOC World Beach Games there is a huge amount to look forward to and our digital platforms will be keeping everyone updated every step of the way."

More than 1,300 athletes are expected from around 90 countries, with action split between the Katara and Al Gharafa beach venues in Doha.

Fourteen sports are on the programme, including surfing, which will remain in San Diego as Qatar does not have suitable conditions.

The World Beach Games were due to be held in San Diego but the American city withdrew after organisers in California were unable to raise the necessary funds.
