Canada delighted the home crowd at the World Lacrosse Men's Indoor World Championship in British Columbia with a semi-final victory over England.

The hosts are looking for their fifth consecutive world title, having triumphed at all four editions of the tournament so far.

Each time they have come up against Iroquois Nationals in the final, with this year no different.

Canada defeated England 21-4 at the Langley Events Centre to set up a clash with their long-standing rivals, with the side representing the Native American Confederacy narrowly defeating the United States 9-7.

The US and England will meet in the bronze-medal match, with the former on track for their fourth successive world bronze medal.

England will be aiming to better their best ever finish of fourth, achieved in 2007.

Three play-off matches are due to take place tomorrow, with Mexico taking on Costa Rica, Switzerland meeting Hong Kong and Sweden coming up against Scotland.

The final and bronze medal match will then take place on Saturday (September 28), alongside five other playoff matches.
