The new edition to the calendar adopts a mixed 10-a-side format and is based on golf's Ryder Cup, which sees Europe take on the United States.

Action is over two days at Australia's Moama Bowling Club, with the hosts captained by multiple Commonwealth Games and world championship gold medallist Rebecca Van Asch.

Barrie Lester, Aron Sherriff, Aaron Teys, Corey Wedlock, Aaron Wilson, Kelsey Cottrell, Karen Murphy, Ellen Ryan and Natasha Scott will also line-up for the home side.

Murphy is retiring following the event, after 22 years and more than 660 appearances for her country.

Scotland's Alex Marshall, himself a serial winner at the Commonwealth Games and world championships, will captain the Rest of the World line-up.

He is joined by Canada's Ryan Bester and Kelly McKerihen, Scotland's Darren Burnett, Ireland's Gary Kelly, New Zealand's Shannon McIlroy and Jo Edwards, England's Ellen Falkner and Katherine Rednall and South Africa's Colleen Piketh.

Action begins tomorrow with three mixed triples matches, before two men's pairs and two women's pairs games in the evening.

Saturday (November 30) will feature five mixed pairs, five men's singles and five women's singles matches.

Sets play will be used across the 22 rubbers.

"Our guys and gals will give a very good account of themselves," Marshall said. 

"It's a cracking good team - I'm really looking forward to playing with each and every one of them.

"We accept that the Aussies have chalked up some impressive results lately, but I can assure you we haven't travelled all this distance to be cannon fodder for the Jackaroos."
