World Taekwondo Oceania (WTO) organised a hugely successful training camp at the Korean National University, for athletes from a number of nations.

With help from KNU support staff Taeho Uhm and Samuel Hansen, a first group training session was organised.

The WTO-organised and funded pre-Olympic qualifiers training camp group training session involved athletes from Kiribati, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu.

Mooto Korea provided financial assistance to the WTO regional Olympic qualification tournament training camp participants.

World Taekwondo Oceania is consistently working to improve exposure of the sport in the region and give its athletes the best opportunities to succeed.

Two major events were held the Gold Coast this year, highlighting this ambition.

The Oceania President’s Cup and the Australian Open were both held in Gold Coast in June, just over one year after the Commonwealth Games were hosted there.
