The International University Sports Federation (FISU) have announced a new scholarship in partnership with the School of International Education in the second of three scholarship opportunities.

The scheme, available only to graduate students, covers tuition waiver, accommodation and comprehensive medical insurance. 

The CUPES Forbidden City Scholarship Programme is offered by Capital University of Physical Education and Sports (CUPES) in Beijing in China for the year 2020-2021. 

All candidates must have a higher education diploma and must not be older than 35 at the time of applying.

Applicants preferably will speak Chinese, but those who cannot should be willing to undertake a one year language course before the start of the programme, which the Beijing Government Scholarship will cover 10,000 RMB (£1,100, $1,400, €1,300) of the 19,000 RMB (£2,100, $2,700, €2,500) tuition fee.

Once the student obtains a HSK Four certificate, proving their ability to speak the language, they can begin their postgraduate study with the Forbidden City Scholarship.

The scholarship is only open to students from the 64 FISU Member Associations situated along the Belt and Road initiative which stretches from East Timor and Indonesia to Central and Eastern Europe, as well as Egypt.

The first of the three scholarship opportunities came with the Dream Together Masters scholarship at Seoul National University in South Korea.
