South Korea beat Italy to the team gold medal as action concluded today at the International Fencing Federation Men's Épée World Cup in Vancouver.

The Koreans triumphed 39-24 in the final at the Canadian city's Richmond Olympic Oval.

They had earlier defeated Japan 36-35 in the semi-finals.

Japan bounced back from that loss to overcome France 45-34 in the bronze medal match.

The other last-four encounter saw Italy claim a 45-39 win over France.
