Team Ireland have announced a partnership with McKeever Sports ahead of this year's Olympic Games in Ireland, with the sportswear store supplying the kits of the team.

The Olympic Federation of Ireland (OFI) renewed the agreement for Tokyo 2020, meaning McKeever Sports will provide a range of Adidas products that the athletes helped finalise the designs of.

Last year, McKeever Sports supplied a range of Adidas training apparel, village and competition wear for Irish athletes who competed at the European Games in Minsk, the European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku, the Association of National Olympic Committees World Beach Games in Doha.

They also supplied products for the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne last month.

Up to 80 Irish athletes will compete in 20 sports at Tokyo 2020, with 46 athlete spots already secured in 10 sports.

Announcing the renewed partnership, OFI chief executive Peter Sherrard said: "We are delighted to renew our partnership with McKeever Sports for 2020 and to announce that Team Ireland athletes will be once again wearing Adidas.

"It has been a pleasure working with Padraic [McKeever, managing director of McKeever Sports] and the team over the past 12 months, and their attention and commitment to Team Ireland has been tremendous.

"We look forward to continuing to work together and to strengthen what is already a successful relationship.”

McKeever said: "McKeever Sports are delighted to once again team up the Olympic Federation of Ireland for Tokyo 2020.

"Being involved with Team Ireland for the world's biggest sporting event is an amazing opportunity for McKeever Sports and one we wish to deliver at the highest levels of service.

"McKeever Sports expertise in delivering high quality product to Team Ireland coupled with the talent and dedication of the Athletes and staff will hopefully prove a winning formula in Tokyo this summer."

Ireland won two Olympic silver medals at Rio 2016, with brothers Gary and Paul O'Donovan winning a rowing medal and Annalise Murphy one in sailing.
