Austria were victorious but pushed close by hosts Slovenia in the women's team event at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup in Ljubno.

Only 3.6 points separated the two sides, despite favourites Austria boasting a quartet who have all made the the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup podium as individuals this year - Daniela Iraschko-Stolz, Marita Kramer, Chiara Hölzl and Eva Pinkelnig.

In the Slovenia team, only Ema Klinec - second in Klingenthal in Germany - had recorded a solo podium this season.

Nika Križnar gave the hosts an early lead and she was Slovenia's leading athlete on the day, with the hosts in first place after round one.

However, Austria fought back and Pinkelnig posted the best second jump of the day, with Hölzl doing enough to keep the gold safe despite Klinec's strong showing on the final leg.

Autsria's final score was 1008.7 and Slovenia's was 1005.1, ensuring Austrian dominance.

The last five women's World Cup events have all been won by Austrians and you have to go back to January for a non-Austrian winner - Maren Lundby.

Speaking of Norway's Lundby, her team were a distant third despite some top jumps, giving them the bronze medal ahead of Germany and Russia.
