A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) and Hungarian Paralympic Committee (HPC) as the organisation aims to develop Para teqball.

The agreement was signed in Budapest by FITEQ President Gábor Borsányi and HPC President László Szabó.

Under the terms of the partnership, FITEQ promised the organisation will work with the HPC to support the growth of Para teqball and the Paralympic Movement in Hungary.

"At FITEQ, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive sport and this historic cooperation agreement is another important milestone on our journey of taking teqball to people all over the world," Borsányi said.

"We are excited to work closely with our friends at the HPC to empower athletes with disabilities by providing opportunities to pursue physical and intellectual development, without discrimination."

FITEQ claim the partnership will allow the governing body to use the HPC’s expertise and network of contacts to help develop Para teqball.

FITEQ and the HPC said both organisations share a common belief in providing inclusive and equal opportunities and increasing access to affordable athletic mobility sports equipment, programmes and funding for athletes with disabilities.

"The Hungarian Paralympic family is delighted to partner with FITEQ to bring Para teqball to people all over Hungary and help FITEQ use this as a springboard for global growth," Szabó said.

"The HPC and FITEQ share the core values of respect, inclusivity and accessibility.

"We are confident that this is the start of a long and prosperous relationship."

FITEQ said the agreement comes as part of their commitment to advancing Paralympic sport, with the organisation stating it has the ambition to take Para teqball to communities all over the world.

A Para Teqball World Championships is among the organisation’s ambitious plans, FITEQ revealed.
