Competition was due to take place in the EuroLeague one, two and three preliminary rounds in various European locations. 

A Champions League quarter-final was also scheduled.

IWBF made the decision to cancel the events following the worldwide outbreak of coronavirus. 

"The IWBF Europe executive council has been watching very carefully the changing situation of the coronavirus (CORVID-19) threat over the last few days," an IWBF statement said.

"It is well known that coronavirus confirmed cases are in many places where EuroCup events are to take place, or where teams are coming from or travelling in. 

"We have spoken to many National Federations and government agencies. 

"We have considered views and information from many teams, players and technical officials.

"IWBF Europe's focus is to protect the health and wellbeing of athletes, technical officials and wheelchair basketball community in this difficult situation.

"This decision is not easy but is made to protect our membership."

IWBF also confirmed that they would try to reschedule the fixtures. 

"We will continue to observe the development of the coronavirus threat in the coming weeks and months and make decisions on possibilities for some games to be played on other weekends when EuroCup Final rounds are planned," they said. 

There have been around 95,000 cases of coronavirus worldwide, with more than 3,000 deaths. 

Italy are the third most-affected country behind China and South Korea, while France, Germany and Spain all have over 200 reported cases. 

The outbreak has caused havoc to the global sporting calendar, forcing events to be rescheduled, postponed or cancelled.
