Morgan Hurd of the United States earned the women's all-around title at the American Cup, an International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) World Cup event.

The 2017 all-around world champion triumphed with a score of 55.832 points to lead the 12 competitors at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. 

It is the second time Hurd has claimed the title in three years. 

Compatriot Kayla DiCello was second with 55.132, followed by Hitomi Hatakeda of Japan on 53.799.

There was more success for the hosts in the men's contest. 

Sam Mikulak was the victor, scoring 85.332 to earn his second American Cup gold medal.

He had previously won the event in 2014. 

Oleg Verniaiev of Ukriane was second with 83.064, with James Hall of Britain third on 82.999.

Russia were absent from this year's competition due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
