Peter Prevc of Slovenia triumphed in a rescheduled International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup event in Lillehammer.

With a men and women's jump cancelled yesterday in Oslo due to poor weather, competition moved to the next Norwegian city on the Raw Air Tournament circuit.

Prevc secured his first World Cup win since February 2017, with the 27-year-old scoring a total of 279.0 points to top the podium.

"Of course, I'm very satisfied and happy about this win," he said.

"My jumps were very good today and I hope that I can perform on a similar level again tomorrow."

German skiers took second and third place, with Markus Eisenbichler finishing on 278.6 points and Stephan Leyhe on 277.5.

The top three in the World Cup standings remained the same.

Stefan Kraft of Austria leads on 1645 points, followed by Karl Geiger of Germany with 1507 and Dawid Kubacki of Poland with 1137.

In the women's contest, Sara Takanashi dominated with a score of 296.9 points.

Maren Lundby was second on 295.4, while fellow Norwegian Silje Ospeth achieved 293.5 points to come third.

Chiara Hoelzl of Austria could only finish ninth, allowing Lundby, Olympic and world champion, to regain the lead in the World Cup standings with 1120 points.

Hoelzl is just behind her on 1095 points, with Eva Pinkelnig another close contender on 979.

Competition is set to continue tomorrow with another individual final for both the men and women.
