All Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Football (CONCACAF) competitions scheduled to take place in the next 30 days have been suspended because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Following a conference call on March 13, the Concacaf Council decided to suspend all their upcoming competitions over the next month because of what the governing body describes as "developing travel restrictions and public health guidance" in relation to COVID-19.

Competitions affected by the suspension are the 2020 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, the 2020 CONCACAF Men’s Olympic Qualifiers in Mexico, the first round of the CONCACAF 2021 Gold Cup Qualifiers and the 2020 CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield in Curaçao.

In a statement CONCACAF said: "We are committed to working with key stakeholders to consider options on how and when to reconvene these competitions and any new decision will be communicated in due course."

Globally more than 169,000 people have been affected by the disease, with more than 6,000 deaths.
