The emblem for the inaugural World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Men's Softball World Cup has been revealed.

Auckland in New Zealand will host the first edition of the re-named event next year with the brand identity for the tournament now confirmed.

It features an "upper-body silhouette of a hitter, following a dynamic swing" with blue and gold the central colours.

"The curves in the figure represent the evolution and global expansion of the sport," the WBSC said.

"The iconic blue helmet is the most recognisable element of the logo, while the golden arch symbolises the honour of playing for one's country in the highest-level softball competition in the world."

New identities for the Under-18 Softball World Cups for both men and women had already been released by the WBSC.

Previously, the flagship events in softball have been known as World Championships.

"This new emblem marks another step in the rebranding process of the Softball World Championships into Softball World Cups across all men's and women's platforms and age-groups, and is part of a unified look and feel," said WBSC Softball Division chairman Tommy Velazquez.
