Six fighters booked their places for taekwondo's Paralympic debut at Tokyo 2020 through the Pan American Qualification Tournament in Costa Rica.

Brazil qualified two athletes at the Palacio de los Deportes de Heredia with only winning your weight division enough to seal a place at the Games.

Silvana Mayara Cardoso Fernandes came through for the South American powerhouse in the women's under-58 kilograms, while Nathan Torquato got the job done in the men's under-61kg.

Mexico also celebrated a pair of successes with Daniela Andrea Martinez Mariscal winning the women's over-58kg category and Francisco Pedroza taking gold in the men's over-75kg.

In the women's under-49kg, Leonor Espinoza Carranza of Peru booked her Tokyo 2020 spot.

Juan Eduardo Samorano of Argentina also earned his country a place in the men's under-75kg. 

Taekwondo is due to make its Paralympic debut at Tokyo 2020, alongside badminton.
