German bobsleigh pilot Johannes Lochner has announced two new recruits for his four-man team for the 2020-2021 season.

Eric Franke, a silver medallist at Pyeongchang 2018 in the four-man as part of Nico Walther's team, is the first new member.

He joins after winning a bronze medal at this year's International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation World Championships.

Walther announced his retirement after his team's third-place finish in Altenberg.

Benedikt Hertel completes Lochner's new team after a successful junior career, which saw him win the Junior World Championship in 2017 and the Under-23 World Championship in 2018 and 2019.

The 22-year-old has only had one World Cup race in his career so far, but that was with Lochner in January 2020 where the team finished second.

Lochner's four-man team have won the European title for the past four years, despite strong opposition from compatriot Francesco Friedrich.

Florian Bauer, Christopher Weber and Christian Rasp pushed with Lochner at the World Championships in Altenberg.
