World Lacrosse (WL) are set to determine the status of the Men's Under 19 World Championship and their general assembly in April due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The board of directors are to hold talks via teleconference after consultation from the WL COVID-19 Task Force, led by WL chief medical officer Karen Sutton.

Both events are set to be held in Limerick in Ireland with the competition scheduled for July 9 to 18.

Chief executive officer Jim Scherr will work with the task force, local organising committee chair Michael Kennedy, members of the WL Management Team and WL member national governing bodies to ready a recommendation ahead of the event.

The board also agreed to freeze some expenditures which will be reevaluated next month.

Last week they asked all staff to work from home and suspend all nonessential travel.

To date there have been more than 297,000 confirmed cases, resulting in the deaths of more than 12,700 people.
