The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) is set to hold a consultation over changes to the new showdown rule book, due for release in 2021.

The IBSA Showdown Committee has asked for feedback on the current rules from all those involved in the sport, with the Committee's chairman, Massimo Sanapo, encouraging people to participate.

"All the stakeholders, and in particular players, are welcome to suggest modifications to the current rules over the coming months and play an active role in shaping the future of showdown", Sanapo said.

Blind football and goalball, which are both on the Paralympic programme, have also held consultations on rule changes.

All comments, suggestions, queries and proposals can be sent to [email protected] and must be submitted by September 30.

The IBSA Showdown Committee will then consider suggestions between October and December of this year before the new rule book is changed on October 1 in 2021, lasting until 2025.

Sanapo added: "The IBSA Showdown Committee would like to encourage everyone involved in the game to take part in this process and make your voice heard for the benefit and good of showdown.

"This is your chance to have a say in the future of your sport."

Members of the Committee will also be available during the consultation period at competitions, but want people to request a meeting via email.
