Starting on May 31, the six World Cup races will be hosted by World OCR's technical partner Sweatworks on their Conquest Events platform.

Registration is free with results and rankings being provided at national, continental and world level along with different age categories for youths, adaptive athletes and able-bodied adults.

FISO President Ian Adamson spoke of the announcement and the aim to keep people active through obstacle course challenges.

Adamson said: "The OCR World Series V provides athletes the opportunity to maintain fitness in a collaborative or competitive environment under today's COVID-19 environment.

"We aim to give the amazing OCR community a way to connect and compare with other athletes around the world.

"The World Series provides athletes the opportunity to compete at the highest level or simply join their peers from their own back yard."

Sweatworks founder and chief executive Mohammed Iqbal added: "In these unprecedented times, we wanted to make sure that we take care of the amazing OCR community that has made this sport great.

"We are thrilled to be able to provide this service for participants from all over the world."

More sporting bodes are turning to virtual competition due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused most global sport to be suspended.

Founded in 2014, FISO has over 90 national member Federations and recently announced the postponement of its 2020 OCR World Championships, now due to take place in 2021 in Rosa Khutor in Russia.
