A digital training camp for women's Nordic combined has been branded a success by organisers after it was held over four days.

Organised by the Lillehammer Olympic Legacy Sports Centre, in cooperation with the Norwegian Ski Association, the camp welcomed almost 60 participating athletes and coaches from 17 nations.

They were all welcomed by camp organisers Per Erik Mæhlum, Jan Christian Bjørn and Linda Svensrud, with lectures beginning the event on the first evening.

Tara Geraghty-Moats, the most successful woman in Nordic combined, talked about her background, career and training.

In a separate coaches' session, International Ski Federation (FIS) race director Lasse Ottesen spoke about the development of women's Nordic combined, while Norwegian sports director Ivar Stuan explained how the Norwegian team worked to develop their female athletes.

Nordic combined has not yet been part of the women's schedule at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships – and will only make its debut in 2021 in Oberstdorf in Germany.

The first women's World Cup circuit is due to begin next season.

In the camp's first physical session, a roller-ski interval exercise was presented, which the participants then carried out individually the following day.

The best photos from this session were also entered to win prizes.

Others speaking at the event included FIS women's equipment controller Kerstin Löscher and Nordic combined athletes Jens and Einar Lurås Oftebro, Mikko Kokslien and Akito Watabe.

The training camp was open to female Nordic combined athletes aged 15 and over.
