The chair of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Women and Sports Committee was a prominent speaker at two recent webinars.

Sheikha Hayat bint Abdul Aziz Al Khalifa spoke at the Saudi International Athletes’ Forum before giving a presentation at the Women’s Sports Forum 2020.

As well as her work with OCA, Sheikha Hayat is a board member of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), chair of the BOC Women's Sport Committee, head of the Women's Sports Organising Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council, a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Women in Sport Commission and President of the Bahrain Table Tennis Association.

The Women’s Sports Forum 2020 was organised by the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) General Authority for Sport in cooperation with the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy for Women’s Sports.

The OCA said Sheikha Hayat’s presentation focused on 19 key points, stressing the efforts of the IOC in "advancing women’s sport", sustainability in governing policies and private-sector investment in elite athletes.

She was also a guest speaker at the International Athletes' Forum organised by the Saudi Arabian Athletes' Commission of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee (SAOC), with the support of the SAOC President HRH Prince Abdulaziz ibn Turki Alfaisal.

Shaikha Hayat explained the importance of Government initiatives in promoting sport and creating an appropriate environment for women to exercise and practice sport.
